Private Ultrasound Scan
Diagnostic ultrasound uses sound waves to produce real-time images of organs and soft tissues. Completely radiation-free and ideal for abdomen, pelvis, thyroid and vascular assessment.
About this scan
Ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the body's internal structures. Unlike MRI and CT, there is no ionising radiation — making it the preferred choice for assessing abdominal organs, pelvic structures, vascular blood flow, and soft tissue masses.
A sonographer applies a small amount of gel to the skin and moves a transducer (probe) over the area. The sound waves bounce back from internal structures to create live images on screen. Most ultrasound scans are painless and take 20–40 minutes. Results are often available immediately, with a written radiologist report typically within 24 hours.
